#TheCut Podcast | SAE & The PWI Problem

On this episode of #TheCut, I had a discussion with Makiah Green, the creator of the online platform @MyPWI, about the national outrage on college campuses about the recent racist remarks from Oklahoma State University fraternity, SAE.

In our discussion, Makiah and I go in depth and offer practical advice on how minority student should deal with racism on college campuses - all semester long. Do you agree?

The Clippers are Cowards...

20140429-010748.jpgQuestion: When is turning your shirt inside out a stand against bigotry/racism? Only in the NBA.

Simply put = cowardice.

True courage would have been sitting out and boycotting Sterlings racist comments, regardless of the consequences.

However, when the Clippers chose to participate, they made Sterling's statements ring even more true. "But, Tyree, they are under contract; they have to play". Correction, "NO they don't."

What the Clipper's have to do is to decide to to play another game; The game of choice is called:  COURAGE.

At some point in every man's life you have to ask yourself if your dignity is worth a paycheck, a trophy, a ring.

Last night, I lost respect for The Clippers and all of these African American men who've shown us that they are not athletes, but in fact workers on a financial plantation.

Really, Who wants a Championship for compromising?

..We live in a Country where young men who look like me are slain over and over without any recompense of justice. My heart is unsettled by this and it leaves me fearful. What if I was gunned down in a similar fashion because my music was played to loudly? Would justice come to knock at my door as my advocate? Let's remain prayerful.. #IamJordandavis

Can Paula Deen say N*GGA with us?

Paula Deen

There is one word in the English Lexicon that can cause as much of an uproar as it has in the year of 2013.We've watched this week, this one  word  topple a million dollar culinary empire and even affirm racial suspicions in Court rooms. But why is that so? Perhaps this word, Nigga or Nigger (whichever you prefer to uses) is asking for it's overdue limelight. Because it certainly has been waiting offstage for another chance at an encore performance.

So step right up, step right up! This, ladies and gentleman,is the start to our nation's circus performance of it's complicated acrobatic act between freedom of speech and political correctness..Thoughts?
